7 days leftStephanie Black's friends, colleagues and fellow IU School of Social Work graduates were proud to honor her memory by creating the endowed Stephanie Allison Black Memorial Scholarship following her tragic death in January 2001. The hope was to create something meaningful and long-lasting to continue Stephanie's legacy as a committed social worker who worked every day to improve the lives of the students she served at IPS.
Please join us in expanding the reach of Stephanie's scholarship. The endowed scholarship has a minimum annual award requirement of $1,000. But it currently only generates about $700 each year which means her scholarship can only be awarded every other year. If you help us raise the scholarship's principal by $6,732, Stephanie's scholarship could begin to generate the required $1,000 annually and be awarded to a BSW or MSW student each year. Specifically, a non-traditional or education focused IUPUI social work student would benefit from the financial assistance. As many of us who knew and loved Stephanie are nearing retirement age, we are making one last push to fully fund the award.
