IUF Crowdfunding

Highlights

The work of the Komen Tissue Bank has continued during the pandemic through sample distribution and ongoing research. Until we can gather safely for a tissue collection event, we still need your help.

More Info

Since its founding in 2007, the Komen Tissue Bank at the IU Melvin & Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center has collected normal breast tissue and blood samples from more than 5,600 women. These samples are shared with researchers worldwide to advance our understanding of how breast cancer develops

The work of the Komen Tissue Bank would not be possible without philanthropic support. With the uncertainty of research funding, our partnerships with individuals, corporations, and foundations drive discovery. We hope you will join us in the fight to understand normal so we can reduce the threat of breast cancer for all women.

In honor of IU Day, an annual event to celebrate all things Indiana University, we’re hoping to raise $2,007 as a tribute to the year the Komen Tissue Bank was founded. Gifts of any size can help us reach this goal!

Medical follow-up increases the value of the gift of NORMAL tissue. Successful annual connections with donors allows us to better inform groundbreaking research. On April 22nd at 6pm EST we will host a virtual spring update and share exciting information about how the KTB continues to evolve as a nationally-recognized longitudinal study. For questions about how to support this critical research or to register for the virtual event, email Jill Henry at jihenry@iupui.edu.
